Henry W. Henshaw analyzes the Mound
Builders stone carvings as representations of
animals not found in the Mississippi Valley of the
United States. Identification of these subjects as
accurate would serve as proof of contact between the
Mound Builders and other civilizations located in
remote areas such as Mexico, Central and South
America.
This
work was originally presented in the "The Second
Annual Report of the Bureau of Ethnology to the
Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution,
1880-'81.".
This 8-1/4" x 11", 50 page soft cover book contains
32 black & white illustrations. $9.95
