Certain Mounds and Village Sites in Ohio, Mills performs an in-depth study
of the famous flint deposit named, appropriately, Flint Ridge. Quarrying
techniques of the flint deposit are covered in detail as well as manufacturing
of flint artifacts. Of special note is the excavation of the Hazlett Mound
which is located at Flint Ridge. This mound contained a house made of
flint blocks and associated artifacts of copper associated suggests the Hopewell
culture.
