Some
of the most beautiful artwork of
archaeological subjects was produced in the
early part of the 20th Century by Mary
Louise Baker (M. Louise Baker). She
was a student at the Pennsylvania Museum and
School of Industrial Arts when she was hired
by Moore to illustrate the volumes that
would soon make him famous. She later
went on to paint her well known
illustrations of Maya pottery.
These
prints are the same size as found in
the original books by Clarence B. Moore.
We have restored and reproduced these plates
so that a $400.00 - $600.00 book (which forms an important
part of our cultural heritage) doesn't have
to be destroyed merely to display the
extraordinary artwork.
Reprinted on a
heavyweight archival paper in the original size of 11" x 14",
the headings and
artifact descriptions are as found on the original, including the printer's credits.
As with the original
plates, these color
reprints fit a standard 16" x 20"
single or double mat with
an 11" x 14" opening (actual size
is 10-1/2" x 13-1/2")
which in turn fits into a standard 16" x 20"
frame.
